Here's my picks in no certain order:
Salt Lick (the one outside of town)
Rudy's
Ruby's (North of UT)
Iron Works (downtown)
Any of the places in Lockhart (south of Austin on 183)
Lamb? - I don't know of any places that do lamb....maybe some baby goat though....

Jacob,
I think The County Line is also superb. Try that one out if you get a chance. Their baby back ribs are tasty and the bread is wonderful. They also have awesomely huge desserts.

You have to get outside of Austin to get the best bar-b-que. Towns like Taylor, Elgin, Giddings, Belton...probably the best bbq you'll find.
But if you're staying in Austin, try out Rubys on Guadalupe. It's good, although you can make an argument for several other Austin places being better. I like Rubys b/c of the atmosphere. And their spicy beans are the shit (no pun intended).
