Hello Baltimore yelpers!
Visiting your city for one night in a couple weeks, and need a suggestion for a restaurant.  The manfriend and I are going to see a baseball game at night, but wanted to catch an early dinner full of seafood/crabbiness.  Only problem is he can't have crab cakes (allergic to wheat/gluten), so we need a place that has some choices in terms of seafood.

Oh yeah, and are taxis easy to get in the city?  We are staying right by the ballpark, but will need to cab-it to a restaurant.

Spanks a lot for any and all suggestions!

for seafood, I would have to ask about your price range.  Obryckis has great crab for you and other seafood for him, Bertha's Mussels are famous, the Oceanaire is expensive but extremely good, and Kali's Court is also expensive but extremely good.

Taxis can be easy to get depending on where you are - generally speaking, if you are near a hotel they are usually outside, or if you are staying near camden yards(federal hill for example) they can be easy to find.  I would actually suggest walking to the restaurants, unless you are headed up into charles village or to fells point...but even then it is at most a 30 minutes leisurely walk.

Thanks Rich!  That helps a lot - can't wait for some delicious seafood...it's just not the same here in the midwest:)

Bess - I'd second Rich's recommendation for Bertha's, which is the 30 minute walk he mentioned.

Personally, I enjoy eating inside Camden Yards. It is overpriced, but it's such a beautiful park w/ decent offerings and many areas to eat. For several years, that was the best part of the park since the O's sucked, but oddly enough, they're doing well this year.

Hope you have a good time!

If you want the real Balmer experience of crackin' crabs, you might visit LP Steamers. Located in the Federal Hill neighborhood (which is very close to downtown and the Yards), they're an unpretentious, down-home type place with great seafood (including, of course, crabs).

Check out this month's Baltimore Magazine (http://www.baltimorema...) for the pick of the area's best crab houses.

LP steamers is great, I forgot about that.  Personally, I would say the cross st. market is the best bet for federal hill area, but that's just me.

I recommend Ocean Pride, but it's all the way out in Towson.  Yummy though!
