Try willow glen yoga on lincoln. They should have a schedule on their website. I suggest taking a class with Kent Bond. Introduce yourself to him before the class and let him know it is your first time. He will put his mat next to you and help you through the poses.

I took a yoga course called the 'Sri Sri Yoga' from the Art of Living Foundation. A volunteer was passing on fliers in Cupertino Village, that's how i came across it. Two teachers taught the course, one guided us through the yoga asanas and the other through breathing exercises and meditation.
What i loved..
1. Along with Yoga they taught several breathing exercises called the Pranayama
2. The teacher called Neelam had a really serene voice and she guided us through the meditations
3. At the end of the workshop they give a short version and long version home practice routine that we can practice by ourselves
4. There are follow-ups for 4 weeks free of cost. The course cost about 100$ for 4 classes.
What i din like..
1. They don't have a studio so, it makes it hard to keep track of their next courses and follow-ups as the follow up was arranged in one of the volunteer's residence (it was generous of them considering the follow-ups are free of charge). Maybe if they charged they could rent out a studio or get their own place.
2. I wished it was longer as i really did not have time to note down the name of the asanas.
Overall it was worth more than my 100$

i tried bikram yoga (i.e. hot yoga) once. the place itself was nice, clean. but i'm weak sauce and couldn't do all the poses cuz of the heat...so i never went back. as a first timer i woulda liked a little more instruction but the teacher didn't offer much.
